
About Me
Based in New York City, Nathan Shepherd is a Greene Fellow at The Juilliard School, where he studies bassoon with Judith LeClair. An artist for Moosmann bassoons, Nathan has performed across the United States with the Music Academy of the West, the National Orchestral Institute, and Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra (NYO-USA). In addition to playing with the Juilliard Orchestra, he appears as a substitute bassoonist with the Florida Orchestra, New World Symphony, the Albany Symphony, and Philadelphia’s Symphony in C. He has been a prizewinner in the national YoungArts Competition, The President’s Own Marine Band Concerto Competition, and the Louisville Orchestra Concerto Competition, and has also been featured on NPR’s From the Top. Beyond the concert hall, Nathan leads Noteable, a nonprofit initiative bringing his Juilliard colleagues to teach in New York City’s underserved schools. He is also passionate about his artistic endeavors in audio/video production, graphic design, and crafting ornate charcuterie spreads.With nearly a decade of private teaching expertise, Nathan Shepherd is a Greene Fellow at The Juilliard School, where he studies bassoon with Judith LeClair.
